Remembering Tibet

Tibet - the Land of Snow, Shambala, the rooftop of the world, a vast plateau with all the most romantic names you could think of. The eerie yet intoxicating emptiness of the plateau complements the Buddhism teaching of emptiness - 色即是空,空即是色.
My trip to Tibet back in June 2007 was my most unforgettable trip of a lifetime. Recently, I have a friend who just went to China to 流浪. I strongly recommended him to visit Tibet. Before his trip, I was so enthusiastic in giving him all my travel tips and hoped that Tibet would leave the same indelible impact on him as it has for me.

What's so special about Tibet, he asked. To me, the snow peaks, serene mountains, vast land, turqoise lake beckoned like a magnet. But most importantly, Tibet is THE place for me to comprehend the definition of infinity. The plateau is so vast I could not even see the end of the horizon. Somehow, looking at this endlessness of space has been the most awe-inspiring experience for me in Tibet.

Use your heart to feel Tibet, not your mind, only then you'll find your Shangri-la in Tibet. Where is infinity? Infinity is in your heart...
